Spragg’s Meat Shop opened in Nov 2005. This expansion into processing allows Greg and Bonnie to raise the hogs, process them and then market the pork products direct to the consumer. Greg directs the meat processing with 4 staff helping to get everything done. Spragg’s Meat Shop in Rosemary is the main processing/retail outlet for their free range natural pork, but this pork is available at various farmer's markets in Alberta.

CUSTOM PROCESSING

Spragg's Meat Shop will be happy to process your beef or pork according to your specifications. All of the custom slaughter continues to be done under provincial inspection in Brooks at Brooks Meat Packers but everything else is done in Rosemary at our facility. Simply phone us to book in your animals and we will arrange your slaughter date. Customers only need to drop off their animals at Brooks Meat Packers, and then we transport the carcasses, and prepare your meat according to your instructions. All meat is then picked up in Rosemary. We will hang custom beef for up to 21 days on customer request. We do offer full sausage processing, curing and smoking products as well as marinating options.
