Can That Meat Go in the Smoker?

At Spragg's Meat Shop, we love a good smoked meat! At Spragg’s Meat Shop, not only do we raise our own pork ethically and sustainably, but we also process our products on-site. And in addition to our own meats, did you know that we can process other local meat as well? You can drop off your frozen trim at either of our locations; we will process your order in Rosemary and contact you when we have everything done. From September to December, we also accept legally hunted wild game and offer everything from skinning to cut and wrap to sausage and jerky.

Common Misunderstandings about Small-Scale Sustainable Pork Farming

As a small-scale family farm right here in Alberta, we have built Spragg's Meat Shop to be a sustainable and fully local food production chain. Farming has historically been a way of life in rural areas, and we believe that continuing to honour the tradition of the family farm benefits communities, consumers, and society.

The Spragg's Pork Journey from Farm to Table

Sustainable, small scale farming practices form a key part of the vision of our local family farm. These practices help to protect the environment and our natural resources. We believe that staying small and selling only to a local consumer base provides a better balance for the ecosystem. As a local meat processor, Spragg's Meat Shop is building a sustainable, dependable local food production chain. Small scale food processing is equally as important to getting high-quality products to the consumer as the farmer is.
